Train

Friday, June 12, 2009

I was in the train this afternoon, something that I didn't really do for quite number of years as I moved out of KL and got my own car. I saw women and men standing, chatting, or staring into the crowded space wearing different kind of emotions on their faces. Some are smiling, some have sad look painted on it and lots of others. Back when I was still a single person, hardly attached to a human being called 'man', I always thought that I will be meeting my knight in shining armour by accident in this transportation, especially when the possibilities of bumping into the same faces are high & who knows, love at the first sight kind of thing might just happen to me & tadaaa cupid strikes. My fantasy was even fed by Nora Danish's advert, remember the advert showed her at the train station wearing panda costume (was it a panda? can't recall) and she was sooo cute!. Time flies, my fantasy had only been a fantasy & was never realized.

The train fantasy continued several years later when it became my main transport to and fro school. Talking to a stranger sitting next besides me was a merely no..no... After all, I don't think anyone would fall for me just by a short glance. On that particular day, everything changed. Someone borrowed my London newspaper (well I got it free anyway) and he looks like a french ... or an arab may be, exhanging a line or two of conversations about where to and origins, my station was called and am ready to get off. As with any pep talk with a stranger I didn't pay much attention to the person.

"Hi Lina", someone approached me at the elevator. I turned around and I saw the same guy in the train. Trying to be cool and not to look so anxious I returned his hello with a question:

"What happen? I thought you are going towards the other direction", he smiled & told me that he wanted to get to know me. I can say that he was into me....hahah

I took his number to cut the conversation as I was in rush & told him I will text back but I never did. Reason was, alone in the foreign land, I have to be aware a little bit. After all, at that moment, I already have someone waiting for me (my inner voice said so....) plus my O2 line was out if credit. Though I still recall that incident, I didn't keep his number and was not even bothered to look for it. My life was contemplated with other important stuffs.

Nevertheless, the feeling of experiencing train's crush gave me a positive vibe that I carried with me all along my way to school. The feeling to be on the receiving end as compared to the one who is giving was refreshing.... After all this while.... My curiosity was answered & I became aware that everyone is special in a way or another. What attracts the opposite gender to the other is simply subjective. No guidelines or written rules though there are generic ideas that can be applied. Alas, most importantly, I knew how it felt ....
