I had never baked before because I really believe my hands are better at cooking the complete traditional dish rather than making pastry, cakes and anything related to it. When my new oven arrived (hehe... I never had one actually) , it reminds me of my childhood. Mak is very good at almost everything, cooking, cleaning and was a successful career woman as well. I couldn't contain my excitement so I gave her a call and told her that she really needs to teach me how to make all the traditional cookies that I used to eat when I was small. Of course she didn't bake anymore, but she still keep those recipies and the almost 20 years old kitchen oven had been replaced by 2 stoves kitchen, enough for her and Abah. After all, her health didn't really permit her to do any hardwork. So, we (the siblings) agreed that it is time for Mak to rest and endevour her life, meeting friends, teaching basic religious stuffs, simply to do things that she loves without demanding streneous amount of energy.
I could still recall the sweet smell of freshly baked cookies
I could still remember the laugh and excitement I had when I ate it
I could still see her smiling face when it was all done
I could still feel the secret ingredient flooded me so much, i.e. L.O.V.E
and
I hope my kids will have such sweet memories too when they grow up, pray that I'll be able to do that
Sighh..
How I miss them, Mak... am coming home with hubby this weekend.
